Human and Animal Rights Policy
To uphold the highest ethical standards in scientific publishing, the International Journal of Recent Technology and Applied Science (IJORTAS) requires that all research involving human or animal subjects demonstrate a clear commitment to participant protection and adherence to internationally recognized ethical guidelines. This includes ensuring transparency, accountability, and respect for the rights and dignity of all individuals and communities involved in the study. The following requirements outline the ethical considerations that must be met for any manuscript submitted to IJORTAS.
Research Involving Human Subjects
Any study involving human subjects must include informed consent, privacy protection, and full compliance with relevant laws and guidelines to ensure fair and ethical treatment of participants. A comprehensive and detailed description of such compliance must be explicitly provided in the Methods section of the manuscript.
The study methodology must strictly comply with the Code of Ethics of the World Medical Association (Declaration of Helsinki), as revised in 2024.
Research must ensure that any identifiable information—such as patients' names, initials, hospital/social security numbers, X-rays, MRIs, images, videos, or charts—is completely anonymized or removed unless specific written consent has been obtained to retain them. This must be addressed in the Methods and/or Acknowledgements section.
For studies involving Indigenous human subjects, appropriate formal consent must be obtained from local Indigenous representatives prior to conducting research.
Research Involving Animal Subjects
Notice: Although IJORTAS does not typically publish animal research due to its scope in technology and applied science, it may accept submissions in specific situations (e.g., when an animal experiment forms a baseline part of a broader human or engineering-applied study). Authors are highly encouraged to contact the editorial office before submitting.
If accepted, animal studies must comply with the US Public Health Service Policy on Humane Care and Use of Laboratory Animals. Authors must clearly detail the sex, age, species, and other relevant biological characteristics of the animal subjects in the Methods section.
REQUIRED STATEMENT: Authors must include a clear, unambiguous statement within the manuscript confirming that informed consent was obtained for all human participants and/or that all applicable laws and institutional ethical guidelines were strictly followed for animal research.
